The old evinrudes and johnson motors sure were ugly, they looked like they were made in east germany.

Would rather have Twin Inline Sixes than those 3 Ugly V-4's!

They have completely solved that problem now with the 400R.

Interesting way to put another outboard on a boat, it would have been faster if they picked mercs.

How funny.  When I was a "young" kid (and I mean around 10) I liked the Evinrudes.  I wanted one on a small boat to go fishing.  Then when I was about 15 my dad came home from work and said, a GI is selling a 4hp Mercury, are you interested.  I ended up buying it.  One time my dad and I went to Lake Amistad to go fishing.  Now my dad was not a sportsman, not even in a small way.  We rented a jon boat, slept in my grandpa's 61 GMC truck, and fished.  We noticed a storm brewing in the distance.  As it got closer we decided we better get back to the camping area.  Well, we were caught in that storm and that Mercury never missing a beat.  We finally made it back to camp and my dad was so relieved.  He "praised" that little Merc.  A memory I will never forget with my dad.  I still have the motor.

When I was 18 my dad allowed me to buy a used 14' Glasron with a 50 hp Merc.  My dad was so impressed with that motor; the engineering, the craftsmanship; the performance on that boat.  I think he was a Merc fan too!
