Odd Merc mid section ?

-this 'looper' with a integrated fuel tank mid section  was at a  Clayton NY meet some years  back.   It  is the only pic I have of it,  but recall seeing  others  back  in  the  day.  Who made this unit ?   Quincy ?  It looks well done, maybe a little  'overkill', but then loopers ran on methanol,  so a B needed to carry lots of it, the lower down the better, and preferably out of the boat !

Yes Quincy did make them, we have one in our collection.  I believe Marshal Grant had the first ones made, I have heard them call Grant tanks.

They sound the same as any two cylinder looper, no exhaust thru the 20H modified mid section.

I have one on my B Looper, unfortunately it does not have the Quincy sticker that some of them came with.  The elbow entrance is cut and a gas cap is put there.  Pretty good setup.
