I believe these were a one-year only for 1960. Serial numbers 1303410 thru 1307410 (via oldmercs). Never seen one. Basically the last MK75 yes?

Yep, I believe just a MK 75A with a 600 faceplate and different cowling.

I dont see them very often.   1960 most people probably chose the 700 or 800 that were available which both had the newer looking lower units with thru hull exhaust.

Functionally, the 1960 merc600 and 1959 mark75A are the same.
If you get into the weeds (like using parts for one to swap onto the other) there are puzzling number of differences.
The controls are different, so the FWD/REV switches differ.  The 600 has a six pin plug; the 75A has 7.
The distributor drives and max advance stop differ.  Carbs are different - 75A changed to an AJ-fixed jet at midyear.  The 600 uses KBs.
There are differences in the midsection, too - most notably the reverse lockout shaft   .
I have both of these engines and love them, along with the 4 cylinder Mark55A.

The very last of the 40 cid Mercs - Merc300-1 and Merc350 white motors - also used the KB style carbs (KB2-A vs. KB3-A for the Merc600). Kind of a hybrid between the AJ and KA series. Methinks a good choice for a 30H or C-Mod....

Great motors, think they were listed in the both the 60 and 61 catalog.  Had twin 1960 Merc600 setup on a 13 foot Delany cat, sold it about 15 years ago.  Very fun boat.

Sounds like the DR600 would be a collector piece.

I've never found on up in these parts.
